| Hey all! I'm turning 25 in a few days... so I've decided to throw myself an impromptu Henna Party!
BYOB at our house tomorrow night (Tuesday, the 23rd). Bring your henna stuff!
maybe we'll hook up the Wii too.
Love! | | |
| Dear Reader,
New pictures of the wedding and shower are up here.
Enjoy! | | |
| Dear Reader,
I need advice... and focus, and motivation...
School is coming to a close (yeah!), but much too quickly for all the things I have left to do. I'm very excited about being done with school, moving on to the career world (and all the other worlds that are opening up). I have multiple prints, a unit to finish, a final drawing project and another, possibly two, shows to make work and get ready for.
This is the easy stuff. -it's harder than it sounds, now that I've reread it. It's still the easy stuff.
The other things are more personal. The after graduation stuff and all the planning that goes into it. -and all the people's parents I am suddenly required to please...
aaarrghhhh!
oh, and I'm supposed to be planning my own graduation party too.
On the more accomplished side:
I did get a (small) start on my Digital Print project, most of the laundry and the first color of my second woodblock print done today. | | |
| Dear Reader,
Well, my Serpentine belt broke this morning...
It didn't really *break*, it shredded half the belt, which I cut away before slowly driving to the shop. It's a miracle that it made it the whole way! (literally) The guys were nice enough to give me a ride to school, even though it's only a few blocks. I'm still waiting to hear about the estimate. They said it would be done today... I hope so. (I think they were surprised when I showed up with grease on my hands. I guess most of their female clientèle don't go to the trouble of actually seeing what's wrong.)
I finished my linoleum print and made a jig for another woodblock, so that's really good. I had some errands to run today, but it looks like that's not going to happen... so I'm just kind of waiting around...
There's a faculty show opening at 4:00, I'll probably head over there to kill some time and snake some free grub.
A friend of mine works for the YWCA. They are having a benefit show at IAO next weekend. I'm going to put in some drawings and a couple small sculpture pieces. 50% of all the proceeds go straight to her program.
(They called and said my car will be done in about an hour.)
I love art. I love making it. I love looking at it. I love all the hubub that surrounds it. I'm fairly certain that I could spend 40 hours a week making (and helping other people make) art for the rest of my life and be a very happy person.
On yet another note, Paul and I are getting a place with Lanette in May (with stipulations)! I'm very excited. We are having a Hippie party to kick things off right. -more details to follow.
